I start groups about once a month, and they all have different pages. A group consists of 16 people and you will get 16 different pages. This is enough pages to split into TWO smaller Quiet Books (great if you have multiple children or want to keep one in the car and one in the house, etc.) or you can keep it as one large Quiet Book.
Each member of the group will choose ONE page design and make enough copies for everyone in your group using the template and instructions I provide. There are 20 total pages to choose from, and the templates of the four pages not picked are available to purchase by group members only. They will be sent electronically as a digital download.
I usually allow 3 months to complete your pages, and then we will all meet to swap pages and assemble your books. If you aren't local to Bakersfield, CA, you would mail your pages to me and I will send your swapped pages and the assembly supplies to you. The hole puncher and grommet tool necessary to complete your book are available to purchase in my shop.
I create a Facebook group where we will communicate throughout the process. If you don’t have a Facebook account, it’s not a problem! I send everything in an email as well. I’ll post pictures of page options and a sign up page with a deadline to commit.
I have pages for all skill levels – beginning crafters to experienced, instructions and templates too! But, sewing is required. If you don't know how, find someone who can help you with that part! I also provide a detailed tutorial to sew your own covers. If you don’t sew, you may decorate a piece of stiffened felt or you can buy a cover from me. All covers must be finished and brought to the swap if you are local.
We’ll also decide on a swap date. It takes about 3 hours to assemble the books. I try to pick the date that works for the most people (usually on a weekend). If you are not able to attend, we can arrange to get your pages from you and give you your new pages (mailing them if you are not in Bakersfield, CA). Please keep in mind there shouldn’t be any children at the swap so we can focus on getting our work done, with the exception of young nursing babies.
Once we have a full group, I’ll send out all the details for making a page so they are similar. You work on your pages on your own. We only meet as a group on the day of the swap.
Along the way, I’ll post coupons, helpful tips and directions, everyone posts pictures of their progress, and I am always available to answer questions.
