Here's an idea to spruce up those fake pumpkins you see in all the stores! It's not quite kid related (although they can definitely help you make it!), but I just have a love for felt decorations. Not only is it very simple to make, it's also a nice fall theme that can last from September to November.
I got the orange pumpkin at Michael's ($5 on sale) and it is 6.5" tall. I'd say it's a medium size. The teal pumpkin is from Target for $4.00 and it is 5" tall. This will be important because the templates go with these sizes! If you get larger or smaller pumpkins, you will need to adjust your template pieces.
Then all you need is the soft felt you see below - white, black, dark brown, copper, tan, orange, and gold. You can find the felt in my shop here and at craft stores.
Cut all of your pieces using my free template. You can get it by entering your email below.
Then use a hot glue gun to attach everything to the pumpkins. One thing to note - I wish I would have put the fox ears a little further apart and angled outward. But once you stick that hot glue down, there is no going back! So just a heads up for yourself.
I also did not glue the owl's wings or triangular piece completely down. There is just a bit of glue between the eyes and at the top of the wings.
